The photos show a rather battered but very rare example of the
additional jerrycan holder that was mounted between the front seats of a
Sahara version of the M201 jeep. The reason that this together with the
other special parts for the Sahara are very hard to find is that after
the Algerian war most of these vehicles were converted to other
non-desert uses and the special add-ons were simply discarded. 
Thanks to JLM for forwarding these photos from Emile Tarbes
(M201 No. 8665) who used the tired original shown above to produce a pristine repro for his rare 6volt
Sahara.
The jerrycan support in place but note also the
extended passenger seat frame to accommodate the second fuel tank. |
