The jeep was originally produced at the factory as a Sahara model. Like many Saharas it was later converted (rather than being rebuilt) into an ENTAC missile launcher. When this system was phased out it was converted back to standard jeep format. The jeep still has many features pointing to its Sahara origin and many holes in the rear wheel arches where the ENTAC system was mounted.
