| Various faults can stop a regulator from
working, sometimes regulators can be repaired and adjusted but
sometimes they cannot. Where they have been 'cooked' (seriously
overheated as in the photo opposite) or the
contacts have become badly burnt, or even water has got in and
corroded things, they
are beyond repair. Good condition replacement working
regulators have become increasingly difficult to find either new
or second-hand and prices where they can be found, usually in
France, have rocketed upwards beyond belief.
In order to help other M201 owners I have
decided to offer the following working and tested regulators as
'exchange' items. The reason they must be sold on an exchange
only basis is that I am in the process of developing an
electronic board to replace the old inner workings so that where
a regulator cannot be repaired it can be up-graded and the
exchange service maintained.

Regulators come and go so the regulator
you will receive may not be the one in the photo although both
of these are in stock at the moment.
They have been tested on the
rig shown opposite for both voltage regulation and current
limiting functions and are set up using a digital voltmeter /
ammeter.
If you are interested in an exchange
regulator then please
get in touch If you have an old
non-working regulator hanging around in your garage
then it could be donated to a good cause. As part of
the electronic regulator
project I need some more old regulators to mount
circuit boards in for testing. I will pay the
postage. If you can help then please also
get in touch.
